(Sports Network) – Kobe Bryant collected 20 points, seven assists and six
rebounds to lead the Los Angeles Lakers past the New Orleans Hornets, 89-76,
on Sunday at Staples Center.

Chucky Atkins scored all 17 of his points in the second half for Los Angeles,
which has won five of its last seven games. Lamar Odom contributed 14 points
and 14 boards for the Lakers.

Brian Cook finished with 10 points in the victory, while Caron Butler had 10
points and eight boards for the Lakers, who have captured 11 of their last 13
contests with the Hornets.

Bryant has scored 20 or more points in six straight and 13 of 14 games this
season. He leads the Lakers in scoring (28.4 ppg) and assists (6.1 apg).
Bryant is also averaging 6.9 rebounds per game, which is second on the team
behind forward Lamar Odom (10.9 rpg).

The Lakers are off until Tuesday when they visit All-Star Michael Redd and the
Milwaukee Bucks at the Bradley Center. This is the final meeting of the season
between the two clubs. Earlier this season, the Lakers knocked off the Bucks,
100-96, on November 23rd at the Staples Center.
