New Jersey Nets Team Report – November 29

=== New Jersey Nets Team Report – November 29 ===

(Sports Network) – The New Jersey Nets were handed their ninth straight loss
on Sunday with an 83-71 setback at the hands of the Portland Trail Blazers at
the Rose Garden.

The stumbling Nets are losers of nine straight for the first time since
November 22-December 6, 2000. New Jersey shot just 38 percent from the field
and were outrebounded 51-40 en route to the loss.

Both teams had serious trouble scoring in this game. The Nets led 10-9 after
one quarter of play, before the Blazers took a 30-25 lead into the locker
room.

With the 55 combined points at the half, the teams tied the league record for
lowest points ever.

In the third quarter, Shareef Abdur-Rahim hit a 21-foot jumper to cap a 16-1
run that put the Blazers up 46-32 with 4:46 left. Portland cruised thereafter,
as the Nets never threatened.

Richard Jefferson led the Nets with 20 points, seven rebounds and four
assists. Travis Best added 15 points and Eric Williams 14.

New Jersey returns to action on Tuesday versus the Charlotte Bobcats.
