No ‘Melo for Nuggets Monday

Denver, CO (Sports Network) – The Denver Nuggets will be without forward
Carmelo Anthony for Monday’s game against New Orleans, and possibly longer,
because of a sprained ankle.

The absence is the first of Anthony’s professional career.

He suffered the injury in Saturday’s 82-76 victory over the Houston Rockets
when he landed hard on the floor after a foul by Bob Sura. X-rays taken after
the game were negative.

Anthony may also miss Thursday’s matchup against LeBron James and the
Cleveland Cavaliers.

The second-year star is averaging 19.6 points and 6.2 rebounds in 13 games
this season.
