Hornets’ Magloire sidelined with finger injury
New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) – New Orleans Hornets center Jamaal Magloire
is expected to be sidelined for up to three months because of a dislocated
right ring finger.
Magloire suffered the injury during the fourth quarter of Friday night’s loss
at Phoenix and then missed games against the Lakers on Sunday and the Nuggets
According to the club, Magloire will wear a splint for eight weeks and then
rehab the injury for four additional weeks. Surgery is not expected to be
Magloire, who participated in the 2004 All-Star Game, has started 11 games
this season and is averaging 14.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per contest.
The Hornets selected Magloire with the 19th overall pick of the 2000 NBA
Draft. In 331 career games, he has posted averages of 9.5 points and 7.3
boards per outing.
