(Sports Network) – The struggling Utah Jazz play the first contest of a brief
two-game toad trip tonight, as they visit the surprising Seattle SuperSonics
On Tuesday, the Jazz, who visit the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday, fell to the
Phoenix Suns, 115-102, at the Delta Center. Carlos Boozer finished with 27
points and a season-high 18 rebounds for the Jazz, who have lost two straight
and four of their last five games. Matt Harpring ended with 19 points in the
Utah played the Suns without All-Star forward Andrei Kirilenko, who was placed
on the injured list Tuesday with a sprained right knee. The 23-year-old
Kirilenko suffered the injury during the first half of Saturday’s loss to the
San Antonio Spurs.
Boozer has scored in double-digits in 12 of Utah’s 15 games this season. He
has recorded seven double-doubles and leads the Jazz in scoring (19.7 ppg) and
rebounding (10.2 rpg).
The Jazz are 4-3 on the road this season.
Last season, the Jazz won three of the four contests with the SuperSonics.
Overall, the home team has won 10 of the last 11 meetings in this series. Utah
has won five of the last seven contests. The Jazz have lost four of their last
five at Seattle.
