Magic’s Garrity back on injured list
Orlando, FL (Sports Network) – The Orlando Magic placed forward Pat Garrity on
the injured list Wednesday because of a sprained left foot. He suffered the
injury during the second quarter against Boston on Monday. In 13 games this
season, Garrity has averaged 7.1 points and 2.0 rebounds.
Garrity played in just two games last season and had surgery to repair his
right knee, which has bothered him throughout his career. The seven-year
veteran from Notre Dame has averaged 9.0 points in 373 career games.
Orlando filled the roster vacancy by activating forward Stacey Augmon. He was
placed on the injured list on November 20 due to left knee patella tendinitis
and has missed the last five games.
Augmon has appeared in seven outings this season, averaging 0.4 points and 1.0
rebound. The 36-year-old Augmon spent the last two seasons with the New
Orleans Hornets. He averaged 5.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in 69 games for the
Hornets in 2003-04.
A 14-year veteran, Augmon has also spent time with the Atlanta Hawks, Detroit
Pistons and Portland Trail Blazers. Originally selected out of UNLV by Atlanta
in the first round (ninth pick overall) of the 1991 NBA Draft, Augmon has
averaged 8.4 points and 3.3 boards in 917 regular season contests.
