Dallas, TX (Sports Network) – Dirk Nowitzki scored 10 of his career-high 53
points in overtime to lead the Dallas Mavericks past the Houston Rockets,
113-106, at AmericanAirlines Center. Nowitzki, whose 53 points established a
franchise best, scored the first 10 points of overtime and helped the
Mavericks to their third win in the last four games. Nowitzki had a solid
night on the court, also pulling down 16 rebounds and making 15-of-32 shots
from the field. He sank 21-of-22 foul shots. Marquis Daniels and Jason Terry
both netted 14 points for Dallas, winners of eight of the last nine meetings
with the Rockets. Tracy McGrady also had an excellent game, scoring a season-
high 48 points on 19-of-36 shooting for Houston, which has lost five in a row.
Jim Jackson chipped in 17 points, while Yao Ming added 13 and 14 boards.

Denver, CO (Sports Network) – LeBron James posted 17 points, nine assists and
eight rebounds to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers over Carmelo Anthony and the
Denver Nuggets, 92-73, at the Pepsi Center. Jeff McInnis scored 15 points
for Cleveland, which has won four of the last six overall. Robert Traylor
added 15 points and nine rebounds in the victory. James and Anthony, the
first and third picks, respectively, of the 2003 NBA Draft, finished 1-2 in
the Rookie of the Year voting last season. James took home the honor. Anthony
posted 14 points for the Nuggets, who watched a two-game winning streak
come to an end. Andre Miller chipped in 10 in the loss.
