=== New York Knicks Team Report – December 4 ===

(Sports Network) – The New York Knocks will try to get back on the winning
track this evening, when they travel to Charlotte to play their first-ever
game against the expansion Bobcats.

The Knicks were in action Friday night and they were handed a loss by the
Orlando Magic. Steve Francis made four free throws down the stretch and
Stephon Marbury missed a pair, as Orlando recorded a 104-98 win at Madison
Square Garden.

Francis hit two free throws with 55 seconds on the clock to put Orlando ahead
for good, 97-96. Marbury then missed his two free throws with 45 ticks
remaining and New York couldn’t recover. Francis responded by again hitting
two more at the line to give his club the 99-96 lead.

Marbury ended with 28 points and eight assists for the Knicks, who had a
three-game win streak halted and fell for only the second time in seven games.
Jamal Crawford ended with 23 points as the Knicks shot only 3-of-21 from
three-point land and had a six-game home winning streak come to an end.

Tim Thomas ended with 18 points for the Knicks, who appeared headed to their
seventh straight home win until poor shooting and costly turnovers in the
final minute cost the team.

Thomas drew New York within 95-94 with a three-pointer at the 2:09 mark.
Marbury then drained a driving layup with 57 seconds left to give the Knicks
their last lead of the game, 96-95.

Thomas and Crawford each shot only 1-of-6 from three, while Marbury went 1-
of-7. Marbury, who came into the game having hit 19 straight free throws went
5-of-8 from the line. He missed his first free throw of the night to end his
streak and then missed his final two to help end his team’s winning streak.
