Toronto Raptors Team Report – December 4

=== Toronto Raptors Team Report – December 4 ===

(Sports Network) – The Toronto Raptors will continue their road trip this
evening, as they roll into Cleveland to face LeBron James and the Cavaliers at
Gund Arena.

The Raptors played the third test of their six-game swing on Friday night in
Boston and were handed a tough 91-89 setback.

Jalen Rose scored 19 points to lead the Raptors, but was stripped by Boston’s
Gary Payton in the final seconds with a chance to tie the game.

Donyell Marshall added 17 points and 11 boards off the bench for Toronto,
which has dropped 10 of its last 13 games.

The Raptors led throughout the game, although not by much. Their slim hold was
undone by a Ricky Davis three-pointer with 8:52 remaining in the fourth
quarter, which made it 73-72 Boston.

The lead changed hands several times until Mark Blount’s bucket with just over
a minute to play put the Celtics ahead for good at 89-87.

Paul Pierce had a chance to seal the win late with the Celtics leading 91-89,
but he missed a pair of free throws. Boston was 21-of-33 from the line in the
game.

Marshall won a jump ball at the other end, and Rose had possession with five
seconds left to tie it, but Payton registered one of his two steals to end the
game.

Tonight’s game will be the first meeting of the season between the Raptors and
Cavs. Toronto won three of four matchups last season and has taken six of the
last 10 encounters. The Raptors have been victorious in seven of their last 10
trips to Cleveland.
