=== Minnesota Timberwolves Team Report – December 5 ===

(Sports Network) – The Minnesota Timberwolves were able to post their fifth
straight win on Saturday night, but needed overtime to do it.

Sam Cassell scored eight of his season-high 30 points in overtime as Minnesota
stopped the Los Angeles Clippers’ five-game win streak with a 107-100 victory
at the Staples Center. Cassell made good on 11-of-18 shots, including 4-of-8
from three-point range.

Kevin Garnett compiled 22 points and 15 rebounds, while Eddie Griffin finished
with 13 points and 11 boards for the Timberwolves.

After the teams traded baskets to start the extra session, Cassell put
Minnesota up 96-94 with a jumper at the 2:34 mark. A made free throw by Bobby
Simmons on the ensuing possession got the Clippers to within one, but Griffin
buried a three-pointer with 1:51 to play for a four-point cushion.

A steal and coast-to-coast layup by Cassell with just under a minute left in
overtime pushed Minnesota’s advantage to 101-96 and Latrell Sprewell followed
with a jumper to seal the win.

The T’Wolves will now turn home for Tuesday’s game against the Dallas
Mavericks.
