=== Philadelphia 76ers Team Report – December 5 ===

(Sports Network) – The Philadelphia 76ers were handed a 77-76 loss by the
Houston Rockets on Saturday night at the Toyota Center.

Allen Iverson had 20 points and eight assists for the Sixers, who are 0-4 on
their current road trip and have lost seven straight away from home. Marc
Jackson and Kenny Thomas each netted 14 in the loss.

A three-pointer by Scott Padgett gave Houston a 72-71 edge with 3:13 remaining
in the fourth and Bobby Sura followed with another three that made it 75-71
with 2:05 to play.

But an Iverson free throw and a driving dunk by Thomas brought the Sixers to
within a point with 1:16 to play. Two free throws by Jackson then put the
Sixers back in front, 76-75, with 37 seconds left.

However, Tracy McGrady’s jumper with 25.6 seconds left put the Rockets on top
to stay.

The Sixers had plenty of chances to regain the lead, but missed five shots in
the waning seconds. Thomas missed a driving layup in heavy traffic, but the
rebound eventually found its way to Jackson, who missed a pair of shots from
right under the basket. Kyle Korver caught up to a long rebound and missed a
three-pointer before Aaron McKie’s jumper at the buzzer clanged off the rim.

Philadelphia will complete their five-game road trip on Monday night in
Atlanta.
