(Sports Network) – The Dallas Mavericks visit the streaking Minnesota
Timberwolves tonight at the Target Center.

The Timberwolves won the first meeting between these teams on Nov. 22, 83-82,
at Dallas. Minnesota has won two straight and three of the last four meetings
in this series. Dallas has lost two straight and four of its last five in
Minnesota.

The Mavs have been decent on the road this season, posting a 5-3 mark.

Dallas had a two-game win streak stopped on Monday night, dropping a 101-85
decision to the Detroit Pistons at AmericanAirlines Center. Dirk Nowitzki
scored 27 points to lead the Mavericks, who lost for just the second time in
six games.

Erick Dampier scored 11 and had 14 rebounds in the contest, while Jerry
Stackhouse tallied 13 points. Josh Howard registered 12 points in the losing
effort.

The Mavericks struggled from the field, hitting just 33 percent of their
shots. Dallas hit just 3-of-21 from three-point range, while draining 76
percent from the free throw line.

Veteran guard Darrell Armstrong, who was acquired from New Orleans for Dan
Dickau and a second round pick on Friday, shot just 3-of-10 for seven points
in 27 minutes of action.
