(Sports Network) – Minnesota is coming off its first loss in six games, as it
fell 97-87 to the Dallas Mavericks at the Target Center on Tuesday night.

Kevin Garnett netted 32 points and grabbed 12 boards for the Timberwolves,
while Wally Szczerbiak scored 18 points and Eddie Griffin contributed 14 in
the loss. Garnett is tied with Duncan for the league lead with 16 double-
doubles.

The Timberwolves shot 44.2 percent from the field in the contest, while
draining 92.9 percent (13-of-14) at the charity stripe. Minnesota was
dominated on the boards, 54-35, in the losing effort, including surrendering
24 offensive rebounds.

Minnesota was without starting guard Latrell Sprewell, who was suspended for
one game for yelling a sexual vulgarity at a fan. Sprewell is averaging just
13.2 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest this season.

The T’Wolves return to the court against the Philadelphia 76ers at Wachovia
Center this evening. Minnesota, which is 7-3 on the road this season, has won
four consecutive road tilts.

series. Minnesota has dropped three straight trips to Philadelphia.
