New Orleans Hornets Team Report – December 8

=== New Orleans Hornets Team Report – December 8 ===

(Sports Network) – The hapless New Orleans Hornets go for just their second
win in 17 games tonight, when they host the New York Knicks at New Orleans
Arena.

The Hornets have dropped seven in a row since their lone win of the year on
November 22 against Utah. The Hornets, who are reeling after injuries to Jamal
Mashburn, Baron Davis, Jamaal Magloire and Rodney Rogers, added to their list
when David West suffered a bone bruise in his right knee on Saturday. West is
expected to miss two to three weeks with the injury.

New Orleans’ latest setback came on Tuesday night in Houston. Yao Ming
compiled 21 points and nine rebounds, while Tracy McGrady scored eight of his
18 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Rockets to the 89-81 victory.

David Wesley recorded 18 points and P.J. Brown finished with 14 points and
nine rebounds for the Hornets.

Dan Dickau also had 14 points in the setback, 13 of which came in the final 12
minutes. Dickau was playing his second contest with the Hornets after being
acquired from the Orlando Magic on Friday in exchange for Darrell Armstrong.

New Orleans now trails the all-time series 30-4 and has lost seven of the last
nine meetings between the clubs, including the last three.

New York won two of three meetings with the Hornets last season and has taken
12 of the last 20 matchups. However, the Knicks have also dropped five of
seven and six of their last nine road game against the Hornets.
