(Sports Network) – The Los Angeles Lakers were ousted by the Phoenix Suns,
113-110, on Wednesday at Staples Center.
Kobe Bryant posted his second triple-double in as many games with 20 points,
14 rebounds and 11 assists for the Lakers, who have dropped two of three.
LA looked to be on its way to the victory with a seemingly comfortable 107-94
lead midway through the fourth. However, the Lakers could not hold on to the
13-point edge as they allowed the Suns to post 15 unanswered points for a
109-107 advantage with 1:50 to go. Quentin Richardson capped the run on a pair
of free throws. The game was then knotted at 110-110 until Richardson drilled
a wide-open triple for the game’s final points.
This was the second meeting of the season between the two squads. On November
19th, Phoenix knocked off the Lakers, 107-102, at America West Arena.
The Lakers are off until Saturday when they are the visitor against the Los
Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center. It will be the second meeting of the
