Phoenix Suns Team Report – December 9

=== Phoenix Suns Team Report – December 9 ===

(Sports Network) – Quentin Richardson scored the go-ahead basket on a three-
pointer with just 6.9 seconds left and finished with 21 points to lead the
Phoenix Suns over the Los Angeles Lakers, 113-110, at Staples Center.

Joe Johnson scored a team-high 25 points and added seven assists for the Suns,
who won their third straight game. Amare Stoudemire finished with 23 points
and 10 rebounds in the win.

LA looked to be on its way to the victory with a seemingly comfortable 107-94
lead midway through the fourth. However, the Lakers could not hold on to the
13-point edge as they allowed the Suns to post 15 unanswered points for a
109-107 advantage with 1:50 to go. Richardson capped the run on a pair of free
throws. The game was then knotted at 110-110 until Richardson drilled a wide-
open triple for the game’s final points.

This was the second meeting of the season between the two squads. On November
19, Phoenix knocked off the Lakers, 107-102, at America West Arena.

The Suns are 9-1 as the visitor this season.

Richardson is averaging 17.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in his last 10 games.

Phoenix is off until Friday when it hosts the expansion Charlotte Bobcats. It
will be the first-ever meeting between the two squads.
