(Sports Network) – Stephon Marbury scored a game-high 22 points and handed
out nine assists as the New York Knicks defeated the New Orleans Hornets,
86-79, on Wednesday at New Orleans Arena.

Kurt Thomas had 16 and Nazr Mohammed each added 14, while Tim Thomas chipped
in with 11 for the Knicks, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

New York won two of three meetings with the Hornets last season and has taken
13 of the last 21 matchups in this series. The Knicks improved to 1-6 on the
road this season and will wrap up their four-game swing on Friday night in
Washington.

Allan Houston remained out of uniform for the second game since being
activated from injured list.

After 18 contests, Marbury leads the Knicks in scoring (18.9 ppg) and assists
(8.9 apg) this season. Thomas is the Knicks to rebounder at 10.3 boards per
game.
