Charlotte Bobcats Team Report – December 15

=== Charlotte Bobcats Team Report – December 15 ===

(Sports Network) – Emeka Okafor hit two free throws with five seconds left in
overtime on Tuesday to lift the Charlotte Bobcats to a 94-93 win over the New
Orleans Hornets.

Okafor finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Bobcats, who snapped a
four-game losing streak. Gerald Wallace added 17 points and 10 boards in the
win.

This marked New Orleans’ first visit to Charlotte since the team moved 2 1/2
years ago. The Hornets spent nearly 10 years in Charlotte before they
relocated to the Big Easy. Following the relocation, Charlotte was given a
franchise with Bob Johnson as the owner later that year.

Prior to Tuesday’s game, Charlotte activated forward Theron Smith from the
injured list and placed forward Tamar Slay on the IL with a left foot ailment.

Okafor has scored 20 or more points in five games this season. He has recorded
11 straight double-doubles and 13 overall in his rookie campaign.

The Bobcats are off until Saturday when they host Tracy McGrady and the
Houston Rockets. This will be the first-ever meeting between the clubs. The
teams will play once again, as the Rockets will welcome the Bobcats to the
Toyota Center on December 22.
