Memphis activates guard Williams

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) – The Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday activated
point guard Jason Williams from the injured list, while placing guard Antonio
Burks on the IL.

Williams, who was placed on the injured list with a sprained right ankle on
December 7, has averaged 9.3 points in 16 games this season for the Grizzlies.

Burks will be out six-to-eight weeks after fracturing his right pinky finger
during Monday night’s 92-86 loss to Cleveland. He suffered the injury in the
fourth quarter and finished with seven points and three assists.

Burks, who began the season on the IL, was acquired by the Grizzlies in a
draft-day deal with Orlando in exchange for cash considerations. In five games
this year, Burks has posted averages of 4.6 points and 2.4 assists per
outing.
