Toronto Raptors Team Report – December 20

=== Toronto Raptors Team Report – December 20 ===

(Sports Network) – The Toronto Raptors try to make it two straight wins this
evening when they head to the Lone Star State to face the Houston Rockets at
the Toyota Center.

On Sunday, the Raptors picked up their first win in the post Vince Carter era,
as Morris Peterson converted 4-of-4 three-pointers and scored a season-high
20 points to lead Toronto to a 110-99 win over New Jersey at the Air Canada
Centre.

Lamond Murray contributed 18 points off the bench for the Raptors, who won for
just the second time in their last 10 contests overall.

Jalen Rose finished with 17 points for Toronto, which drained 14-of-23 three-
point shots.

Both teams were shorthanded two days after completing a blockbuster trade.
Toronto shipped All-Star swingman Vince Carter to the Garden State in exchange
for center Alonzo Mourning, forward Eric Williams, center/forward Aaron
Williams and two conditional first-round draft picks.

None of them played Sunday, however. Carter is on the injured list, while Eric
and Aaron Williams are required to report to the Raptors by noon Monday.

Mourning may not play at all for the Raptors. According to published reports,
he is expected to be redirected to the Miami Heat through a buyout or another
trade. Mourning’s physical was reportedly waived so that it could be
completed.

Toronto, which plays three of its next four on the road, is a dismal 2-13 away
from home this season.

Toronto defeated Houston earlier in the season, but could be at a disadvantage
tonight, as the road team in this series has lost seven of the last eight
meetings.

The Raptors are also just 1-8 all-time in Houston.
