Golden State Warriors Team Report – December 21

=== Golden State Warriors Team Report – December 21 ===

(Sports Network) – The Warriors fell to the Wizards on Monday when Gilbert
Arenas scored on a driving layup with 0.8 seconds remaining to lift Washington
to a 103-101 victory over Golden State at The Arena in Oakland.

Jason Richardson netted 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Golden State,
which fought back from a 14-point third quarter deficit to force a tie in the
final seconds. Speedy Claxton added 17 points, while Troy Murphy posted 15
along with 11 boards.

After Claxton sank two free throws with 17.1 seconds left to knot the score at
101-101, Arenas slowly dribbled to the foul line, faked left, then blew past
Mickael Pietrus and went hard to the hoop. He was hacked by Murphy but got the
one-hander to fall in right before the final buzzer.

Claxton has scored in double-digits in seven straight games. He has averaged
17.1 points and 6.3 assists in that span.

The Warriors are off until Wednesday when they host Pau Gasol and the Memphis
Grizzlies. It will be the third meeting of the season between the two teams.
The Grizzlies have won both contests, winning once at home and once on the
road.
