Tirade costs Brown

New York, NY (Sports Network) – The NBA fined Detroit Pistons head coach Larry
Brown $15,000 on Thursday for his verbal tirade following Wednesday’s loss to
Chicago.

The altercation occurred because Brown felt he was being ignored by referee
Anthony Jordan throughout the Pistons 89-82 loss.

Following the game, Brown had to be restrained by team officials after
yelling at Jordan while leaving the Palace floor on his way to the locker
room.

The defending NBA Champion Pistons, who are in second place of the Central
Division at 12-12, travel to Indiana on Christmas Day to battle the rival
Pacers.

The game will mark the first time the two teams have played since a November
19th contest that escalated into a brawl between Pacers players and Detroit
fans. The Pacers won the game 97-82 after it was stopped late in the fourth
quarter.
