(Sports Network) – The Golden State Warriors will aim to string together
their first three-game winning streak since March tonight, when they battle
the Denver Nuggets at The Arena in Oakland.

Golden State, which won seven in a row from March 15-28 last season, posted a
surprising 98-94 victory over the Sacramento Kings at ARCO Arena on Sunday
night. Jason Richardson scored all of his 26 points in the second half to lead
the Warriors to the victory.

Richardson scored 15 points in the third quarter and 11 in fourth, nailing a
number of key shots down the stretch, as Golden State won in Sacramento for
the first time since March 9, 1998. The Warriors had dropped 11 straight and
20-of-21 coming into the contest at Sacramento.

Troy Murphy added 19 points and 13 rebounds for Golden State, which has won
two in a row after losing four straight. The Warriors, who overcame a 10-point
halftime deficit in Oakland for a 109-99 win over Memphis last time out, also
dug out of a double-digit halftime hole in this one.

Cliff Robinson added 11 points, while Speedy Claxton had 10 points and nine
assists.

Golden State activated guard Derek Fisher from the injured list prior to the
game and placed guard Luis Flores on the IL with a strained right hamstring.
Fisher, who had missed seven games with a a sprained right knee, posted 10
points in his return.

The Warriors, which are beginning a two-game homestand, are 6-8 at The Arena
this season.

This is the first meeting between these teams on the year. Denver won three of
four last season, but fell 96-87 in Oakland in their last contest on February
6. The Warriors have won five of eight and eight of their last 12 meetings.
