Carter makes Nets debut
Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) – Vince Carter was activated from the
injured list and made his Nets debut on Monday against the Detroit Pistons.
The 27-year-old Carter was acquired by New Jersey from Toronto in a trade 10
days ago in exchange for center Alonzo Mourning, forward Eric Williams,
center/forward Aaron Williams and two conditional first-round draft picks.
However, Carter had been nursing a strained left Achilles’ tendon.
Carter scored 23 points off the bench during the 100-90 overtime loss to the
Pistons. After playing 42 minutes, he was forced to leave the contest with
2:13 remaining in the extra session due to cramping in his left leg.
The 6-foot-6 swingman entered Monday’s action averaging 15.9 points per game.
He played in 20 contests this season for the Raptors.
