Rockets guard Ward undergoes surgery
Houston, TX (Sports Network) – Houston Rockets guard Charlie Ward is expected
to be sidelined at least six weeks after undergoing knee surgery earlier this
Ward, who is on the injured list, had surgery to repair a torn lateral
meniscus in his right knee. In 14 games this season for the Rockets, including
13 starts, he has averaged 5.4 points and 3.1 assists per contest.
The injury to Ward, who has not played since November 26 against Utah,
prompted Houston to acquire guards Jon Barry and David Wesley through separate
trades within the past week.
Ward has averaged 6.3 points and 4.0 assists over 630 career games with New
York, San Antonio and Houston.
