=== Philadelphia 76ers Team Report – January 1 ===

(Sports Network) – The Philadelphia 76ers found themselves on the wrong end
of a 97-92 decision to the Denver Nuggets on Friday at the Pepsi Center.

Allen Iverson poured in a game-high 29 points and registered eight assists for
the 76ers, who had their five-game road winning streak and three-game overall
win streak snapped. Kyle Korver scored 13 points, pulled down a career-high 10
rebounds, made four steals and tied a career-high with three blocks.

The teams traded leads before Bryon Russell hit two foul shots with 33.2
seconds remaining to put the Nuggets ahead 93-91. Iverson was then fouled 11
seconds later, but made one-of-two from the foul line to get his team within
93-92.

DerMarr Johnson converted one of two foul shots with 20.6 seconds left to put
the Nuggets ahead 94-92.

Then Iverson missed a running one-hander in the lane on Philadelphia’s next
possession. Korver missed a potential game-tying three-pointer on its next
offensive set with 1.6 to go.

Philly returns to action on Sunday when it continues its road trip against the
Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center.
