=== Los Angeles Clippers Team Report – January 1 ===

(Sports Network) – The Los Angeles Clippers found themselves on the wrong end
of a 98-79 decision to the San Antonio Spurs on Friday at the Staples Center.

Corey Maggette finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds and for the Clippers,
who have lost eight of their last 10 games. Rick Brunson delivered 17 points
and eight assists.

Maggette made two foul shots midway through the third quarter to trim the
Clippers deficit to 46-41. But San Antonio responded with a 14-3 burst. A 20-
foot jumper by Parker, midway through the third, put them ahead 60-44.

Brunson hit a three-pointer at the third-quarter buzzer to cap a 16-8
surge and bring the Clippers within 70-62.

Los Angeles cut its deficit to 70-64 early in the fourth quarter on hook shot
by Zeljko Rebraca. San Antonio, though, went on a 15-4 flurry to take control.
Barry hit two free throws with 7:18 to go to make it 85-68.

The Clippers never threatened the rest of the way.

Elton Brand, who had 14 points and eight boards, has scored in double-digits
in 26 of the 27 games that he has played in this season.

LA returns to action on Sunday when its hosts the Philadelphia 76ers.
