Wade’s big night extends Heat’s win streak to 14

Miami, FL (Sports Network) – Dwyane Wade scored 16 of his 26 points in the
first half to lead Miami to a 113-90 win over Charlotte at AmericanAirlines

Wade converted 11-of-16 shots from the field and dished out nine assists for
the Heat, who extended their franchise-high winning streak to 14 games.
Shaquille O’Neal finished with 16 points, while Eddie Jones delivered 11 of
his 13 points in the third quarter.

“Obviously we had another efficient offensive performance,” said Miami head
coach Stan Van Gundy. “Our defense was spotty at times, but it was enough to
get us the win.”

Emeka Okafor posted 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Bobcats, who have lost
six of their last seven and 10 of 13. Jason Hart contributed 14 points.

Down 6-4 early, Miami reeled off eight straight points. A layup by O’Neal
midway through the first quarter put them ahead 12-6.

A foul shot by Jahidi White, with less then four minutes left in the first,
put Charlotte ahead 18-15. But the Heat ended the quarter with an 13-2 burst
to lead 28-20.

Less than five minutes into the third quarter, Charlotte got within 63-56 on a
dunk by Gerald Wallace.

However, a three-point play by Wade capped a 18-4 burst and put the Heat ahead
81-60 with 3:53 to go in the third. They led 90-68 at the end of the quarter.
