(Sports Network) – The Orlando Magic found themselves on the wrong end of a
105-90 decision against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday at the United Center.
Grant Hill notched a team-high 16 points for the Magic, who have lost five
straight on the road and three in a row overall. Kelvin Cato returned from a
shoulder injury and registered 13 points while Steve Francis added 12.
Rookie Dwight Howard posted his ninth double-double with 10 points and 12
rebounds. He has led or tied the team in rebounding 17 times in 28 games.
Orlando failed to score 100 points for the fifth time in 18 games. The Magic
are averaging 104.7 during that stretch.
Early in the third quarter, the Bulls extended their lead to 68-41. Chris
Duhon’s three-pointer 4:23 into the third capped their 8-4 flurry.
Chicago’s edge ballooned to 82-49 on five straight points by Luol Deng with
2:52 to go in the quarter.
The Magic ended the third trailing 87-57. They got within 15 points in the
final two minutes of the fourth quarter, but no closer.
Before the game, the Magic activated Cato from the injured list and placed
forward Michael Bradley on it with a strained hamstring..
Hill has scored in double-digits in all 27 of the games he has played in this
season and is averaging 19.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists on the year.
The Magic return to action on Monday against Toronto.
