Denver Nuggets Team Report – January 3

=== Denver Nuggets Team Report – January 3 ===

(Sports Network) – The Denver Nuggets hope to get back on the winning track
this evening when they welcome the Los Angeles Clippers to the Pepsi Center.

Last night, interim head coach Michael Cooper suffered his first loss, as the
Nuggets dropped a 99-91 decision to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples
Center.

Carmelo Anthony paced Denver with 27 points, while Nene chipped in 16 points
and 11 boards for the Nuggets, who have dropped seven of their last eight
games.

On the injury front, center Marcus Camby (back) and guard Greg Buckner (groin)
both missed the game for Denver and both are questionable for tonight’s
affair.

Kenyon Martin, though, returned after sitting out Friday’s game with a sore
back and scored 11 points in 28 minutes.

The Nuggets, who have won three of five and nine of their last 13 at home, are
10-6 in their arena this season.

Denver split its two matchups with the Clips last season and could hold the
advantage tonight, as the home team in this series has won seven of 10 a d12
of the last 16 meetings. The Clippers have also won three of their last five
in Denver.
