(Sports Network) – The Dallas Mavericks found themselves on the wrong end of
a 124-114 decision on Wednesday against the Houston Rockets in an as-
advertised offensive battle at the AmericanAirlines Center.

Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavs with 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting and was 5-of-7
from beyond the arc. Jerry Stackhouse had 26 points off the bench, hitting 10-
of-11 from the line. Jason Terry netted 21 points in the loss and Shawn
Bradley added 12.

Michael Finley had 14 points, most of which came in garbage time, for Dallas,
which had won five in a row coming in.

On the injury front Josh Howard missed the game with flu-like symptoms, while
guard Marquis Daniels continue to sit with a ankle injury.

Nowitzki is averaging 31.8 points over his last six games.

The Mavericks, who wrapped up a five-game homestand at 4-1, will return to
action on Friday when they visit the San Antonio Spurs.
