New Orleans Hornets Team Report – January 13

=== New Orleans Hornets Team Report – January 13 ===

(Sports Network) – The New Orleans Hornets failed to record their first
three-game winning streak of the season on Wednesday, as they found themselves
on the wrong end of a 90-76 decision against the defending champion Detroit
Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Baron Davis led the way for New Orleans with 16 points, eight rebounds and six
assists. Lee Nailon also scored 16 for the Hornets, who were coming off their
first set of back-to-back wins this season.

The Hornets never led in this game, but they didn’t fall completely out of the
game until an 8-0 run in the third quarter put them behind by 15-points.

Tayshaun Prince capped the surge with a bucket inside the 2:00 mark, giving
Detroit a 70-55 advantage. That lead was trimmed to 13 at 72-59 heading into
the fourth quarter, but the Hornets were never closer the rest of the way.

New Orleans’ league-worst record now stands at 4-30 and includes a miserable
2-18 mark away from home.

Nailon has scored in double-digits in 10 of his last 11 games. He is
averaging 16.6 points in that span.

New Orleans tries to get back on the winning track on Friday when it hosts the
Portland Trail Blazers.
