(Sports Network) – The Indiana Pacers will go for their third straight
victory and seventh in 10 games tonight, when they host the Orlando Magic at
Indiana posted an impressive 101-83 thumping of the NBA-leading Phoenix Suns
at Conseco on Friday night. Jermaine O’Neal scored 29 points, added 12
rebounds and had a season-high six blocked shots to lead the Pacers.
Jamaal Tinsley tallied 18 points for the Pacers, who never trailed and led by
as many as 20 points. Jeff Foster added 11 points and 12 rebounds for Indiana,
which has won two straight after dropping three in a row.
It was Scot Pollard’s first game back from being on the injured list with back
problems. He ended with six points and seven rebounds. Fred Jones added 14
points for the Pacers.
Reserve center David Harrison did not play in the game due to a concussion.
Harrison was placed on the injured list.
The Pacers controlled the glass in the win, outrebounding the Suns, 52-36.
Indiana also outshot the Suns, 47 to 39 percent in the winning effort.
Indiana, which is typically a tough team to beat at Conseco, is just 10-6
within its friendly confines this season.
Orlando got the best of the Pacers, 86-83, at Conseco Fieldhouse on November
20. In fact, the road team has won six of the last seven meetings in this
series. Indiana has taken eight of 12 and nine of the last 14 in this series.
