=== Detroit Pistons Team Report – January 15 ===

(Sports Network) – The defending NBA champion Detroit Pistons will go for
their season-high fifth straight win this evening, when they continue their
four-game homestand against the Philadelphia 76ers at the Palace of Auburn
Hills.

Detroit has won nine of its last 11 and 11 of its last 15 overall to move
within a half-game of Cleveland for the Central Division lead. The Pistons
continued their climb on Friday night with a 101-94 victory over the Orlando
Magic at the Palace.

Richard Hamilton had 26 points to lead the Pistons to the victory, while
Chauncey Billups added 19 points and nine assists. Tayshaun Prince and Rasheed
Wallace tallied 16 points each and Antonio McDyess tacked on 13 off the bench
for Detroit.

Detroit was feeling it from the field, hitting 48 percent of its shots,
including 5-of-11 (.455) from three-point range. The Pistons drained 24-of-27
from the free throw line. Detroit tightened the screws defensively, holding
Orlando to 40 percent shooting.

The Pistons signed Anthony Goldwire to a second 10-day contract Friday. He
signed his first contract with the team on Jan. 5. Goldwire didn’t score in
seven minutes of action.

Detroit, which has won three of its last four home games, is 11-6 at the
Palace this season.

Detroit has won three straight in this series, including a 99-91 win at the
Palace on Nov. 6. The Pistons have won seven of the last 11 meetings in this
series, including two home tilts in a row. Philadelphia still owns a 109-82
all-time advantage in this series.
