Utah Jazz Team Report – January 16

=== Utah Jazz Team Report – January 16 ===

(Sports Network) – The Jazz struggled on Saturday night, falling 84-71 to the
Cleveland Cavaliers at the Delta Center.

Former Cav Carlos Boozer had 12 points and 16 rebounds for Utah, which has
dropped two straight after winning two in a row. This was Boozer’s first
appearance against Cleveland since his controversial signing with Utah in the
offseason.

Boozer had been released from his deal with Cleveland reportedly with the
understanding that he would re-sign with the team. However, he jumped at
Utah’s contract offer and left the Cavs. Cleveland’s front office claims
Boozer reneged on his verbal agreement not to sign with another club, while
Boozer claims an agreement never took place.

Gordan Giricek and Mehmet Okur also had 12 points for the Jazz, who scored
only 29 second-half points after scoring 23 in the first quarter. Raja Bell
finished with 10 points.

Utah fell to 5-10 when scoring under 100 points this season.

The Jazz have a day off before returning to the court against the Los Angeles
Lakers on Monday night.
