Hornets’ Davis sidelined with ankle injury
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) – The New Orleans Hornets were without
star guard Baron Davis for Monday’s 95-91 loss the Philadelphia 76ers at
the Wachovia Center.
Davis left Sunday’s loss to the Toronto Raptors in the third quarter with an
ankle injury and didn’t return. He had dished out a game-high 11 assists
before the injury.
The 25-year-old Davis, who had missed time earlier in the year with an
inflamed disc in his lower back, has played in just 17 games this season and
has averaged 19.7 points and 7.3 assists-per-game.
New Orleans, which is an NBA worst 5-32, can ill afford to lose Davis for any
length of time.
The Hornets fell to a dismal 2-20 as the visitor this season and have lost
18 of their last 19 away from home.
