(Sports Network) – The Knicks have slipped into a three-way tie for first
place in the Atlantic Division with Philadelphia and Boston thanks to their
88-86 loss to Chicago on Monday afternoon.

a second remaining. Stephon Marbury delivered 25 points for the Knicks, who
suffered their second close defeat to the Bulls in three days. Marbury is
posting 20.6 points and 8.8 assists per contest this season.

York fell for the third straight game and has now dropped seven of its last

New York’s Jamal Crawford returned to the lineup after missing 10 straight
games due to turf toe. He had eight points and finished just 4-of-14 from the
field. Teammate Tim Thomas also played after sitting out the last three
outings with a sore knee.

The Knicks placed guard Moochie Norris on the injured list with a strained
left Achilles’ prior to the game. Norris was forced to vacate the roster to
open a space for Crawford.

New York has not fared well at home lately, losing four of its last five to
fall to 11-8 at MSG this season. Meanwhile, the Knicks are just 6-12 on the
road.

New York has three games left this week, as it heads to Toronto on Wednesday
before returning home for contests against Houston (Friday) and Milwaukee
(Sunday). The pair of home tilts will mark the beginning of a four-game
