(Sports Network) – The 76ers held on for a 95-91 victory over the New Orleans
Hornets at Wachovia Center on Monday afternoon.

Allen Iverson scored 29 points to lead the Sixers to the win, while Kenny
Thomas added 21 points and 15 rebounds. Thomas has recorded three straight
double-doubles, while Corliss Williamson chipped in 16 points in the victory.

Iverson is leading the league in scoring with 28.5 points per contest, while
posting 7.3 assists (5th-NBA) and 2.2 steals per game (4th-NBA).

Kyle Korver rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points for the
Sixers, who nearly blew a 25-point, fourth quarter lead before holding on for
the win.

Despite its 17-20 mark, Philadelphia moved into a first-place tie in the
Atlantic Division with the equally woeful New York Knicks, who fell to the
Chicago Bulls on Monday, and Boston Celtics, who were idle.

Philadelphia’s Samuel Dalembert missed his fourth straight game with a hip
injury. Dalembert is listed as day-to-day.

The Sixers improved to 9-7 as the hosts this season and are 4-3 in their last
seven in the City of Brotherly Love.

Philadelphia has a day off before returning to the court against Charlotte at
Charlotte Arena on Wednesday night. The Sixers will remain on the road for a
contest against Orlando on Saturday.
