(Sports Network) – The Pistons climbed into the top spot in the Central
Division thanks to a 94-80 win over the reeling Phoenix Suns at the Palace of
Auburn Hills on Monday.

Tayshaun Prince scored a career-high 26 points, pulled down seven rebounds and
handed out five assists to anchor the Pistons to the win. Prince has stepped
up his play lately, registering 20.3 points in his last three games. The lanky
forward’s previous career high was 25 points, last year against Orlando.

Richard Hamilton netted 16 points and Antonio McDyess and Rasheed Wallace each
contributed 13 points and eight boards for the Pistons, who have won six in a
row and 11 of their last 13 contests.

Ben Wallace collected 11 points and 15 rebounds for Detroit, which owns a 1/2-
game lead over Cleveland in the division. Wallace is registering 12.7
rebounds, 9.6 points and 2.7 blocks per contest.

Detroit has won five of the last six meetings with the Suns, who still own the
best record in the league (31-8) despite a winless four-game road trip.

The Pistons have their next two games on the road against Orlando (Tuesday)
and Milwaukee (Friday). Detroit will finish up this week’s slate against
Chicago on Saturday.
