Kenyon Martin out with strep throat
Seattle, WA (Sports Network) – Denver Nuggets power forward Kenyon Martin was
scratched from Tuesday’s contest against the Seattle SuperSonics with a case
of strep throat.
The 27-year-old Martin played in Monday’s game against the Golden State
Warriors and had 11 points and 13 rebounds in the loss. He is averaging 15.5
points and 8.1 rebounds per game in 35 contests this season.
The ailment is only supposed to keep Martin sidelined on a day-to-day basis.
Francisco Elson, a seven-foot center, started in Martin’s place. Elson is
averaging 3.0 points and 3.1 rebounds in 32 games this season.
