(Sports Network) – The struggling Los Angeles Clippers host the Dallas
Mavericks on Monday at the Staples Center.

This is the second meeting of the season between the clubs. On January 20th,
the Mavericks crushed the Clippers, 99-77, at American Airlines Center.
Overall, Dallas has won three straight and eight of the last 10 in this
series. The Mavs have won three of four and nine of their last 11 at the
Clippers.

LA enters Monday’s contest on a five-game losing streak. On Saturday, Dan
Dickau had 17 of his career-high 27 points in the fourth quarter, and his
three-pointer with 2.1 seconds left lifted the New Orleans Hornets to an 88-85
victory over the Clippers.

Elton Brand had 28 points and 11 boards Saturday to lead the Clippers, losers
of 10 of 16 and 15 of their last 22 games since an 11-7 start to the season.
Bobby Simmons added 17 points and eight rebounds in the loss to the Hornets.

Brand has registered a double-double in six straight games and has recorded 17
this season. The Duke product leads the Clippers in rebounding (9.4 rpg) and
is second in scoring (19.3 ppg), behind Corey Maggette (21.5 ppg).

LA is 13-10 as the host this season. The Clippers are 2-2 in their last four
at home.

The Clippers will act as the host on Wednesday when they play the Lakers. It
will be the third meeting of the season between the clubs, as the previous two
contests have both been won by the Lakers. The Clippers have a busy weekend
ahead of them as they are scheduled to visit the Portland Trail Blazers at the
Rose Garden on Friday night and will host the Golden State Warriors on
Saturday evening.
