Webber sits against New Jersey

Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) – Sacramento Kings All-Star forward Chris
Webber did not play against the New Jersey Nets on Tuesday due to a sprained
right ankle.

Webber injured his ankle in Sunday’s game against San Antonio when he landed
awkwardly while taking a jump shot in the second quarter.

Darius Songaila started in Webber’s spot against the Nets.

For the season, Webber is the Kings’ leading scorer and rebounder, averaging
21.5 points and 9.6 rebounds per outing in 36 starts.

Webber sat out three games earlier this season to rest his left knee, which
was operated on in 2003.

In other news, Sacramento placed guard Maurice Evans on the injured list with
a strained groin and activated forward Erik Daniels.
