Iverson sits out game against Hornets
New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) – Philadelphia 76ers star guard Allen Iverson
missed Friday’s game against the New Orleans Hornets because of a strained
left shoulder. He is listed as day-to-day.
Iverson, who has been bothered by a sore shoulder for much of the season,
also sat out Wednesday’s game against Washington.
Friday marked the fourth game that Iverson has missed this season. He sat out
a November 21 contest against Miami with an elbow contusion and was unable to
go against Minnesota on January 7 due to a right ankle injury.
The 29-year-old Iverson leads the NBA in scoring with a 29.1 points-per-game
average. He is also first in minutes (42:03 mpg), third in the league in
steals (2.24 spg) and sixth in assists (7.5 apg).
Willie Green started in Iverson’s place against the Hornets.
