Iverson sits out third consecutive game
Dallas, TX (Sports Network) – Philadelphia 76ers star guard Allen Iverson
was sidelined for his team’s 93-89 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on
Saturday because of a strained left shoulder.
It was the third straight game the NBA’s leading scorer has missed. He is
expected to return to the starting lineup Monday when the Sixers host the
Iverson, who has been bothered by a sore shoulder for much of the season,
also sat out Friday’s game against New Orleans and Wednesday’s game against
Friday marked the fifth game that Iverson has missed this season. He sat out
a November 21 contest against Miami with an elbow contusion and was unable to
go against Minnesota on January 7 due to a right ankle injury.
With the victory, the Sixers are now 1-4 this season without Iverson.
Second-year guard Willie Green started in Iverson’s place against Dallas.
