Arroyo undergoes successful surgery
Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) – Detroit Pistons guard Carlos Arroyo
underwent successful surgery Monday to repair his fractured nose.
Arroyo broke the nose late in the third quarter of Detroit’s lopsided 91-61
victory over the Knicks on Saturday night when he was accidentally hit in the
face by New York rookie Trevor Ariza.
The 25-year-old Arroyo, who was acquired from Utah on January 21, is listed as
doubtful for the next two games — Tuesday at Washington and Wednesday versus
Atlanta. He will be fitted for a protective mask and his status will be re-
evaluated prior to Saturday’s contest at New Jersey.
In a combined 35 games this season, he is averaging 8.0 points and 4.8 assists
