Okafor sidelined with ankle injury
Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) – Charlotte Bobcats forward Emeka Okafor will
miss Tuesday’s game at Utah because of a sprained left ankle.
Okafor, the second overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, landed awkwardly on the
ankle late in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Following the loss to the Lakers, the club announced that he would probably be
able to play on Tuesday. However, the ankle got worse during the night and he
sat out practice on Monday.
He is the only Charlotte player to have started all 41 games this season. The
University of Connecticut product leads the Bobcats in both scoring and
rebounding, averaging 14.9 points and 11.1 boards per contest.
