Nets’ Buford to miss some time
East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) – New Jersey Nets guard Rodney Buford is
expected to miss the next 4-to-6 weeks with torn ligaments in his left ankle.
Buford sustained the injury in a win over the Utah Jazz on January 29 and is
not expected to undergo surgery.
The 27-year-old Creighton product is averaging 8.8 points and 3.7 rebounds in
43 games (17 starts) this season.
Buford, a native of Milwaukee, WI, has also played for Miami, Philadelphia,
Memphis and Sacramento.
In other team news, the Nets signed forward Donnell Harvey to a 10-day
contract. The former Florida star was drafted by the New York Knicks in the
first round of the 2000 draft.
