(Sports Network) – The Celtics slipped out of first place in the Atlantic
Division thanks to 97-94 loss to the Houston Rockets at FleetCenter on Monday
Ricky Davis scored 24 points off the bench to lead the Celtics, who lost for
just the second time in five games. Paul Pierce finished with 22 points, five
rebounds and five assists for Boston.
Pierce is leading the Celtics with 22.1 points per contest, while grabbing
seven rebounds per game and dishing out 4.2 assists per contest. Meanwhile,
Davis is second on the team with 15.2 points per game, while Gary Payton leads
the team with 6.3 helpers per contest while posting 12.1 points.
Mark Blount notched 14 points in the loss and Raef LaFrentz added 12 points
and seven boards. The Celtics shot 49.4 percent from the field, including 3-
