=== Denver Nuggets Team Report – February 1 ===

(Sports Network) – The Denver Nuggets will try to remain unbeaten under new
coach George Karl on Tuesday, when they return home to host the struggling New
York Knicks at the Pepsi Center.

New York registered a 107-96 victory over the Nuggets on December 12th at
Madison Square Garden. The Knicks have won 10 of 15 and 13 of their last 19
meetings overall, but have dropped three of four in Denver.

Denver has won its first two contests since Karl took over for interim coach
Michael Cooper. On Saturday, the Nuggets registered a 95-88 victory over the
Indiana Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse to close out a five-game road trip.

Kenyon Martin scored 25 points to spur the Nuggets to the victory on Saturday.
Carmelo Anthony added 15 points while Marcus Camby had 13 along with 12
rebounds as the Nuggets snapped a near 10-year winless streak in Indiana.

Bryon Russell chipped in 13 points off the bench for Denver, which last
emerged triumphant in the Hoosier State on March 31, 1995.

The Nuggets had lost the first three of their five-game road trip before
Friday’s 106-100 win at Milwaukee in Karl’s debut. Denver is 7-16 on the
road, while owning a 12-9 mark at the Pepsi Center. The Nuggets have won two
of their last three home games overall.

Martin is averaging 19.5 points and five rebounds in the two games Karl has
coached, while Anthony has registered 20 points and 4.5 boards per game in
that span.

Denver travels to Portland to face the Trail Blazers at the Rose Garden on
Wednesday. The Nuggets and Blazers will play the first of four contests this
season.

After Wednesday’s contest, the Nuggets return home for a pair of games. Denver
is scheduled to host the Golden State Warriors on Saturday and the Utah Jazz
on February 8th.
