Iverson out with the flu
East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) – Philadelphia 76ers guard Allen Iverson
will not play in Monday’s game against New Jersey. The NBA’s leading scorer
has the flu.
Iverson recently missed three games with a sprained left shoulder, but has led
the Sixers in scoring in each of the four games since his return. He was
listed on the team’s injury report as questionable for Monday’s game because
of the shoulder.
Iverson, who is averaging 28.8 points a game, is also among the league leaders
in assists and steals.
Monday’s game is the sixth missed by the 6’0″ All-Star this season. Besides
the three games he missed late last month, Iverson sat out a November 21
contest against Miami with an elbow contusion and was unable to go against
Minnesota on January 7 due to a right ankle injury.
